    Testphase für eıne Erhöhung der Gesamtflächenbelastung in der GPS-Triangle Lightclass

    Für die neue Saison 2025 möchten wir gerne auf ein immer wieder angeführtes Thema aus dem Teilnehmerfeld eingehen.
    Die Frage nach der Anhebung der Gesamtflächenbelastung.
    Es existieren wohl einige potentielle Lightclass-Modelle, welche die 30gr/qdm Flächenbelastungsgrenze nur knapp überschreiten und somit nicht an Lightclass-Wettbewerben teilnehmen können.
    Zusätzlich hört man immer wieder, dass sich viele Piloten vor allem bei windigen Bedingungen mehr Gleitleistung wünschen.
    Aus diesen Gründen würde sich ein Anheben der Flächenbelastungsgrenze lohnen.
    Eine deutlich höhere Flächenbelastung andererseits würde den Charakter der Lightclasse komplett ändern und zusätzlich eine große Anzahl an geeigneten Modellen über das maximale Gewichtslimit von 3kg heben und diese somit obsolet werden lassen.
    Aus diesen Gründen möchten wir 2025, nach der WM, die Möglichkeit nutzen und einen Wettbewerb mit einer um 10% angehobenen maximalen Gesamtflächenbelastung als Testphase fliegen.
    Die maximale Gesamtflächenbelastung soll demnach 33gr/qdm betragen.
    Wenn sich diese Maßnahme als vorteilhaft herausstellt, kann eine Erhöhung der Gesamtflächenbelastung offiziell ins Regelwerk aufgenommen werden.
    Eine deutliche Erhöhung der Gesamtflächenbelastung ist jedoch aus den oben genannten Gründen nicht geplant.
    Schon bei den jetzt testweise veranschlagten 33g/qdm stoßen ein paar wenige verwendbare Modelle an das maximale Gewichtslimit von 3kg.
    Die maximalen Flächenbelastungen für 30 und 33 g/qdm können der erweiterten Tabelle entnommen werden.

    Tryout for a 10% increase in surfaceloading for the GPS-Triangle Lightclass

    For the new 2025 season, we would like to address a recurring topic from the field of participants.
    The question of increasing the total surface loading.
    There are probably some potential light class models that only just exceed the 30gr/sqdm surface loading limit by a tiny little bit.
    In addition, we keep hearing that many pilots would like more glide performance, especially in windy conditions.
    For these reasons, it would be worth raising the wing loading limit.
    On the other hand, a significantly higher wing loading would completely change the character of the light class and would also raise a large number of suitable models above the maximum weight limit of 3 kg, thus making them obsolete.
    For these reasons, we would like to take the opportunity in 2025 to fly one competition, after the World Championship, with a 10% higher maximum surface loading as a test phase.
    The maximum total surface loading should therefore be 33gr/sqdm.
    If this measure proves to be advantageous, an increase in the surface loading can be officially included in the rules.
    However, a significant increase in the surface loading is not planned for the reasons mentioned above.
    Even with the 33gr/sqdm currently proposed for testing, a few usable models are already reaching the 3kg maximum weight limit.
    The maximum surface loadings for 30 and 33 gr/sqdm can be found in the extended table.
    We wish all GPS-Triangle Lightclass pilots a great start into the next season and hope that we will meet for some good competition soon.
